Transit-based MPV's long-distance abilities were never in doubt. THE CLEAREST SIGN yet that the Tourneo's range-extender hybrid system has been doing it's job: a recent close call when I had forgotten to refill the fuel tank before a longer-distance drive and almost got caught short in the middle of the Mendip Hills. Having used electricity almost exclusively for my local journeys, I hadn't been paying much attention to the fuel gauge - until the dashboard warning lit up at 50 miles remaining.
