Celanese raises capacity of Clear Lake acetic acidproject, evaluating methanol options

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based acetyls producer Celanese has increased the capacity of its acetic acidexpansion project in Clear Lake, Texas, and is looking into options for supplying feedstock methanolonce the project is complete, the company said on Friday. The company previously announced that the project will resume after it was put on hold in April 2020and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023.
