West African crude fows to Asia slump

West African crude fows to Asia-Pacifc fell to a fve-year low in July, pressured by Covid-19, low import quotas in China and refnery shutdowns in India. Flagging Chinese and Indian demand pushed west African crude fows to Asia down to just over 1.7mn b/d, the lowest since October 2015, Argus data show (see graph). Exports to China reached a meagre 840,000 b/d, also a fve-year low and a third below the 1.24mn b/d shipped in June.
