South32's S African coal output and sales fall

South32's South African coal production and sales fell in October-December, the firm said today. Australia-headquartered South32 produced 5mn t of South African coal in October-December, down by 9pc on the year and 20pc on the quarter. Sales in South Africa fell by 14pc on the year and by 19pc on the quarter to 2.9mn t, while exports fell by 23pc on the year and 11pc on the quarter to 2.2mn t.
