Sectoral results were mostly negative, although gases were an exception. Basic chemical shares were down 5.8%, while diversified shares declined 3.1%, and specialty stocks were down 1.9%. Ag shares decreased 2.9%, while gases shares rose 0.2%. Shares in Sasol fell back after trading close to 52-week highs for much of June, although they remain up significantly for the year.
