Yara divests entire stake in Lifeco JV

Yara International says it has sold its entire 50% stake in Libyan Norwegian Fertilizer Co. (Lifeco), a joint venture (JV) with Libya’s National Oil Corp. (NOC) and the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), to NOC. The transaction has an efective date of 31 December 2020. Lifeco owns two ammonia and two urea facilities in Marsa El Brega, Libya, designed to produce a combined 700,000 metric tons/year of ammonia and 900,000 metric tons/year of urea, with Yara handling all urea and ammonia exports from the JV until now.
