Lotte Chemical to invest $3.8 billion in hydrogen by 2030

Lotte Chemical (Seoul, South Korea) says it will invest 4.4 trillion South Korean won ($3.8 billion) in its hydrogen business by 2030 to cut its carbon emissions, with the goal of generating W3.0 trillion in annual sales from the business by the end of the decade. It is also aiming to achieve 10% of its operating proft from the hydrogen business by 2030, it says. Other targets include producing up to 600,000 metric tons/year of clean hydrogen using its production technology, with the goal of capturing 30% of South Korea’s hydrogen market by 2030.
