Versalis to close Porto Marghera cracker, aromatics complex

Versalis will permanently shut its ageing steam cracker and aromatics complex at Porto Marghera, near Venice, Italy, starting in spring 2022, according to parent company Eni (Rome, Italy). The existing logistics hub at Porto Marghera will remain in operation after the plant closures for the continued supply of raw materials to Versalis’s inland petrochemical and polymer manufacturing sites at Ferrara and Mantua, Italy, CW has been told exclusively by Eni.
