For the year through 29 May, chemical railcar trafc in North America was up 3.3% from 2020 and down 0.2% from 2019, according to data released by the Association of American Railroads (AAR). Volume totaled 48,016 carloads during the week ended 29 May, up 1.7% from the previous week and up 20.3% year over year (YOY). On a four-week basis, volume increased 15.4% from 2020 and 0.5% from 2019 (chart).
