Three new M&A transactions were announced during the week ended 22 February, down from five during the week prior. Yearto- date (YTD), volumes have fallen below 2020 levels, but values have begun to track well ahead due mainly to Lonza’s sale of its specialty ingredients business to private equity. This is a reversal from the situation that prevailed for most of January.
