SK Innovation investing to expand rechargeable battery capacity in Europe

South Korean refining and energy conglomerate, SK Innovation, has decided to construct its third rechargeable battery plant in Hungary. The company resolved to make the new investments in the battery industry, which is the core of its 'green-centred deep change' policy. It will invest $1.148-bn in SK Battery Hungary (SKBH) to build the new factory in Ivancsa with a production capacity of 30 GWh per year. The other two Hungarian units are located in Komarom. The third plant will be the company's largest in terms of investment.
