Lenzing links with pulp firm for post-consumer textile recycling

Lenzing, a producer of wood-based fibers, says it has signed a cooperation agreement with Sodra (Vaxjo, Sweden), a producer of pulp, with the objective of "making a decisive contribution to addressing the enormous textile waste challenges of the industry and society." The deal involves transferring knowledge between the two companies and jointly developing process technologies, followed by expanding production capacity for pulp from post-consumer waste. The goal is to process 25,000 metric tons/year of textile waste by 2025.
