In this issue of Blood, Stein et al report the feasibility of combining isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) inhibitors with intensive induction and consolidation therapy, paving the way for pivotal studies to explore targeted IDH therapy as standard of care for those with newly diagnosed IDH-mutant acute myeloid leukemia (AML).(1)
