Deaths Among People with HIV: Progress and Precarity

HIV-related deaths have fallen by almost 50% in the U.S. since 2010, but disparities in this progress point to the need to do more. Between 1990 and 2011 in the U.S., HIV-related deaths among people with AIDS declined by almost 90%. Now, the CDC has analyzed deaths by cause between 2010 and 2017 among persons aged >=13 years with diagnosed HIV infection. Deaths were classified as HIV- and non-HIV-related based on ICD-10 codes.
