A small selection of tranisition metal catalysed reactions from the chemical literature of 2001 is reviewed below. Some reactions also involve a stoichiometric metal component in addition to the transition metal catalyst. The review is divided into reaction type. The author has endeavoured to emphasise historically less used transition metal-catalysed reactions that have become increasingly popular over the past few years, as well as important extensions to current well-known reactions.
