摘要

Decades of laboratory experiments on biological weapons have given birth of a potential antagonist, Trichoderma as an alternative to chemical arsenals. One of the critical obstacles in the application of bio-control under field conditions is the paucity of methods for mass culturing and applying the antagonists to the soil. This problem can be overcome by development of suitable delivery systems for antagonists. Mukhopadhyay (1987) has comprehensively reviewed the various growth media used for mass multiplication of Trichoderma spp. The base material used were primarily either waste products or by-products of Agriculture. However, a comparative study to find the best and cheap substrate is lacking. Hence, in this study different substrates have beenevaluated for supporting growth of potential native Trichoderma isolates identified for the control of dry root-rot of acid lime caused by Fusarium solani.
