North Star BlueScope to digitalize HRC production

USA's North Star BlueScope has placed an order with SMS group for the digitalization of HRC production at its plant in Ohio, Metal Expert learnt from the plant-builder's press release. The mill will integrate a digitalization package across the entire production process. It will include the SMS digital production planning system MES 4.0 and the Quality Execution System with Process Data Warehouse module, containing a data history extension. Plant data including historical data are processed within the SMS Data Factory to allow for future extension of machine learning and artificial intelligence applications, as well as for full plant visualization functions capabilities. In addition, the Smart Alarm App will enhance maintenance insight through the ability to diagnose cause and effect of signals and alerts.
