JSW Steel Italy reveals industrial plan

JSW Steel Italy, a former Aferpi, presented a long-awaited industrial plan for the steel plant development, includes the state participation and construction of an EAF-based meltshop. Over EUR 80 million in capital investment was announced within the plan. The Piombino 2030 plan was presented on September 15. JSW Steel Italy and the Italian government have agreed that Invitalia, a state-run National Agency for Inward Investment and Economic Development, will provide EUR 30 million as part of the total EUR 84 million investment in exchange for a stake in the company, Metal Expert learnt from local media sources. The process is expected to be finalized by October. The remaining financing will be obtained through a grant once the company achieves a positive EBITDA, which is expected by March-April 2021.
