As Dr. Andrews mentioned, as a pediatric cardiologist, I have the honor of working with children with heart disease on a daily basis. They have taught me an enormous amount. I want to share with you some tips that kids with heart disease have taught me throughout my career. Lay the groundwork now. You have to walk before you run. A child must first learn to read and then read to learn. You must learn the basics of history and physical before learning about all the cool, latest technology. Never, ever forget that great doctors existed before robotic surgery and 4-D MRI's! Lay the groundwork with the OSMA like I did 25 years ago, when I was starting medical school.
