European Aviation Sector Poised for Late Summer Revival

The restart for European aviation is finally getting off the ground, but may not come soon enough to rescue the lucrative summer season. Accelerating vaccination rates across Europe could allow regional aviation to take off by late summer, with international travel corridors to countries with high jab rates, like the US, inflating jet fuel demand soon after. Eurocontrol’s Director-General Eammon Brennan said the stage was now set for a strong European recovery in the fourth quarter in his latest market update on Apr. 26.
