Along the G-Code Way: CURSOR FIXTURES

Much to my surprise, the most difficult operations involved in making the Homage Tektronix Circuit Computer seen in Photo 1 were machining the transparent cursor and engraving its hairline. Tektronix surely die-cut the cursors from blanks with printed hairlines, operations much better suited to mass production than a home shop. The logarithmic scales and their legends now come from a laser printer, rather than plotted with a ballpoint pen in my modified CNC 3018-Pro, as you saw in DM 15.1. Although using a laser printer to replicate a gadget from the 1960s definitely feels like cheating, living in the future does have some advantages.
