Finding a Place for a Resin Printer in Your Shop

I have used 3D filament printers for a couple of years in my shop with great success in many applications but there is a big drawback. The filament extrusion nozzle is about 4 mm (.016") in diameter so a high-resolution feature is limited to about three strands, or 1.2 mm (.047") in the XY-plane and the resolution in the Z-plane was a little better, but not much. You can end up with 3D filament parts that have jagged surfaces and are usually a little oversized. There's just no getting around the laws of physics.
