I went through my back issues of The Home Shop Machinist the other day looking for a short but useful project. After finding several, I settled on this one: "An Improved Drawbar for an RF-30 Mill-Drill" by R.G. Sparber, HSM Vol 26, No 3, May/June 2007. Having the ability to tighten the spindle nut without having to grab the belt to stop spindle rotation would make using the mill-drill so much easier. And being able to jack collets out of the spindle is also good. It turned out I had most of the required material so I decided to start in on making one of my own.
