Measurement of roll temperature in stretch reducing mill

摘要

This paper deals with the optimization of the process of tube rolling in a stretch reducing mill in ?eleziame Podbrezová. It focuses on the optimization of roll cooling in relation to thermal and deformation processes in each individual rolling stand. Particular attention was paid to the condition of rolling in austenitic region, i.e. Tdov > Ar3. Today the stretch reducing mill cooling system is being iteratively adjusted according to the pilot surface temperature measurements of the rolls. The paper also addresses the question of a reliable measurement of surface temperature of rolls by means of contact and non-contact measuring methods.
