HSE to prosecute Crossrail firms

Three joint venture contractors on London's Cross-rail project are to face prosecution over three incidents during the construction of the railway tunnel, including the death of Rene Tkacik, who was crushed by falling "shotcrete". The HSE said that BAM Nut-tall, Ferrovial Agroman (UK) and Kier Infrastructure and Overseas, whose jointure venture BFK is the principal contractor for the western tunnels portion of the ?15bn project, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in January to face four charges each.
