IAQ: Scientists call for 'paradigm shift' on IAQ

A coalition of more than 40 scientists has called for a "paradigm shift" in the way that the risk of airborne infection is addressed in building design and standards. The scientists, including Cath Noakes, professor of environmental engineering at the University of Leeds, who sits on the government's SAGE committee, highlighted in the magazine Science that airborne infections are not addressed currently in the same way as sources of other environmental infections, such as food, sanitation or drinking water.
