Steam regulators are available in several varieties: direct spring loaded, direct air loaded, and steam piloted operated. These options have emerged as the standard for steam control in reducing stations. There are also downsides to the above solutions. An alternative could be the use of control valves to increase flexibility and improve the reliability in operation.
