Canada - Vancouver-based GreenPower Motor Company Inc, a manufacturer and distributor of zero emissions electric powered medium and heavy-duty vehicles, has delivered its first EV Star Cargo Plus delivery truck to the city of Vancouver. The GreenPower EV Star Plus is based on the company's EV Star platform, a purpose-built, zero-emissions vehicle capable of a range of up to 150 miles. This Class 4 vehicle (GVWR of 14,001-16,000 pounds or 6,351-7,257 kilograms) has been designed and built from the ground-up to be battery-electric. The Cargo Plus model is 25ft long, 9ft wide and 10.5ft high. It has Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries with energy storage capacity of 118kWh and a Dana TM4 electric motor. It is equipped with a 730kg liftgate, rolling door, a cube with an interior height of over two meters and payload of over two metric tons. GreenPower says the EV Star utilizes unibody construction, the life expectancy of which is ten years. The vehicle is charged overnight using J1772 Type 2 and CCS1 plug-in charging.
