Japan - The all-new light-duty Canter truck by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (Fuso) of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, went on sale in Japan in November 2020, featuring new cab design and for the first time, Active Sideguard Assist. Fuso says new Canter is the first light-duty truck in Japan to come with standard Active Sideguard Assist, which detects pedestrians and vehicles on the left side of the truck through radar sensors and alerts the driver if there is a risk of collision when turning left. The truck also features Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), features which were included in the previous model.
