Cummins expects engine production to be 28% higher this year in Brazil

Brazil - The Brazilian commercial vehicle market has shown consistency in its resumption of sales since April of this year, according to Luis Pasquotto, president of Cummins Brasil Ltda of Guarulhos, Sao Paulo and vice president of Cummins Inc, albeit still at a relatively slow pace. Suppliers to the sector, like Cummins, he said, were expecting diesel engine production to increase by 28% this year; which is the equivalent of 27,000 units more than were delivered last year. Pasquotto indicated the Brazilian truck market would close 2017 with sales of 55,000 to 60,000 units and a production of around 73,000 trucks in total.
