The Nissan elected European car of the year 2011

The electric model of the Japanese Nissan, the Leaf sedan, earned the title of the European car of the year. This is the first time an alternative propulsion car earns such a title. The seven finalist models were judged by 57 journalists specialized in the automobile, coming from 23 European countries. The Leaf finally obtained 257 points. It supplants the Alf Romeo Giulietta (248 points), the Opel Meriva (244 points), the short and long Ford C-Max (224).
