摘要

"You have to be on your guard when bad weather comes," remarks Austin Montgomery, a section engineer from Northern Ireland's Department for Infrastructure Roads, who looks after the A6 at Glenshane. "Conditions can change very rapidly and we need to be alert to help traffic keep flowing." Glenshane is one of the highest mountain passes in Northern Ireland at 288m and among the most notorious stretches of road in the country. Heavy snow in March 2010 saw 300 people rescued after their vehicles got stuck.
