Spare a thought for the poor tour guide who before Covid would happily don a bright jacket, grasp a clipboard and lead a group of people along city streets, inside buildings and below ground. At the time of writing such gatherings are still not permitted. But with a little imagination and a stable broadband connection the hosts can continue to ply their trade while transport enthusiasts indulge in their passion for nostalgia. Today's virtual visit over Zoom took in several sites of interest in central London including the long abandoned Kingsway tram tunnel and a redundant Underground station at Aldwych.
