Revised Manual for Streets guidance makes forward strides

Development of a revised Manual for Streets providing up to date guidance on good street design for transport practitioners, house builders and other key stakeholders is being taken forward by CIHT. The Institution was asked to lead the revision by the Department for Transport-which is supporting the work through grant funding - and consultant WSP has now been appointed to deliver the new document following a recent procurement exercise. The updated guidance, due for publication in early 2022, will replace the existing Manual for Streets 1 and 2 documents which came out in 2007 and 2010 respectively to reflect key policy, practice and behaviour changes seen over the intervening years.
