Call to consider near miss investigation

Valuable lessons that could inform road safety improvements are being lost because data from near miss incidents is not currently captured, a conference heard in March. The event organised by the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety also made the case for an independent Road Collision Investigation Branch (RCIB) to help boost understanding about the causes of accidents.
