LANXESS to acquire Emerald Kalama Chemical

Specialty Chemicals company LANXESS has signed a binding agreement to acquire US-based specialty chemicals manufacturer Emerald Kalama Chemical,which is majority-owned by affiliates of the US private equity firm American Securities LLC.After deducting debt-related items,the purchase price is about $1.4 billion,which LANXESS will finance from existing liquidity.The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2021,subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
