Blackburn Chemicals Limited was formed in 1972 by George Lamb.At various stages of the company's development,four of George's children and six of George's grandchildren have joined the company and shared his vision of a privately-owned family business successfully competing in a global market.In 1975,the company moved to its first purpose-built manufacturing site on the outskirts of Blackburn.The next four years saw rapid growth,resulting in an additional production unit being built in 1979.Further growth has led to the company now sitting on a 5-acre(=20,000m~2)manufacturing,R&D and administrative site.
