PPG buys global coatings manufacturer Ennis-Flint

PPG has announced that an agreement has been reached to acquire Ennis-Flint,a global coatings manufacturer,for approximately $1.15 billion(with the transaction expected to close in the next few months,subject to customary closing conditions).Ennis-Flint,a privately held company with headquarters in Greensboro,North Carolina,manufactures a wide range of pavement markings and traffic safety products,many of which are developed according to strict government guidelines and customer specifications,and are proprietary to the company.A high percentage of its product sales are derived from non-discretionary,essential maintenance spending.
