The Ninth Annual Meeting of the Arizona Physiological Society

A very successful ninth annual meeting of the Arizona Physiological Society (AzPS) was hosted by the University of Arizona-Tucson on October 21-22, 2016. In attendance were 126 registrants from five state-wide university campuses: University of Arizona-Tucson (UA-Tuc), University of Arizona-Phoenix (UA-Phx), Arizona State University (ASU), Northern Arizona University (NAU), and Midwestern University (MWU). Of those attending, 34/126 (27%) were faculty/regular members, 13/126 (10%) were postdoctoral trainees, 39/126 (31%) were graduate/medical students, 25/126 (20%) were undergraduate students, and 15/126 (12%) were staff/invited guests. A number of high-quality abstracts (67 total) were submitted from undergraduate students (13), graduate/medical students (33), postdoctoral fellows (10), and regular members (11). The meeting was sponsored by APS, Midwestern University Department of Physiology, University of Arizona-Tucson Department of Physiology and College of Medicine, Northern Arizona University, and Arizona State University, with additional contributions from the following vendors: BERTEC, DSI, and NCI (each of whom also attended and participated in the meeting).
