Noteworthy beetles from North Devon (VC 4) in 2018

The Coleoptera of North Devon (VC 4) have generally not been as well documented as those of South Devon (VC 3),excepting particular hotspots such as the Braunton Burrows area (e.g. Webb & Mott,2015) and the special fauna of Lundy. It was to help remedy this that the coleopterists' meeting was held in North Devon in 1988 and lists from several localities were published (Key, 1989). During 2018 MLL has identified a number of local species from North Devon, several new to the VC 4 list, mainly from three localities as below. The occurrence of the cerambycid Xylotoles griseus (Fabricius) has already been noted (Luff, 2018).
