Quedius (Quedius) simplicifrons Fairmaire is a Nationally Scarce species found 'high up in saltmarshes'(Lott & Anderson, 2011) and is known round the coast in the southern half of Britain from Anglesey to Norfolk. It occurs in north Somerset (Duff, 1993,2010) but there are no previous records from Devon or Cornwall.
