Plagionotus detritus (Linnaeus) (Cerambycidae), an adventive longhorn beetle found in Norfolk and Lincolnshire

Duffy (1952) listed Plagionotus detritus (Linnaeus) as an imported and/or doubtfully indigenous longhorn beetle. Thorp & Whitehead (2016) state that the species turns up not infrequently in imported timber, and document records of two specimens emerging from imported oak at Lindridge, near Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, in 2016. We are not aware of any more recent records in Britain until one turned up in a moth trap at Dering Wood, East Kent, on 25 June 2020. Short notes detailing this record have beeen submitted to other entomological journals (Sean Clancy, pers. comm.).
