European Commission orders new EU bespoke paint ingredient labelling rules

The European Commission is mandating new labelling laws for bespoke paints sold in the European Union (EU), "formulated in limited amounts on a tailor-made basis for an individual consumer or professional user at the point of sale by tinting or colour mixing". Under a new regulation - see https://data. consilium.europa.eu/doc/document/ST-10419-2020-INIT/en/pdf - such products will need to be labelled with the unique formula identifiers of all mixtures contained within making up more than 0.1% of the final product. These names need to be located together and listed in descending order, depending on their volume. The paint maker and seller must also label the percentage of the volume taken by each ingredient that makes up more than 5% of the final product.
