China's iron ore production growth slows down in August

China's production of unprocessed iron ore eased slightly in August in response to softer seaborne spot prices. But with 62% Fe iron ore fines prices still above $90/mt CFR, Chinese miners will keep utilization rates at relatively high levels. Crude iron ore production rose 6.5% on year in August to 74.3 million mt, National Bureau of Statistics data showed. This compares with 10% growth and 74 million mt output in July.
