摘要

Scrap prices were higher in most global regions mid-July due to rising demand. However, the US scrap market was not able to gain traction from the uptick in other regions due to a slow recovery in demand. Deepsea Turkish import scrap prices rose amid positive China sentiment and improved finished steel demand in both the domestic and export markets over recent weeks. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $260/mt CFR on July 17, up $4.50/ mt on week. Deepsea recyclers in the US and Baltic regions are now targeting $265- $266/mt CFR for HMS 1/2 (80:20).
