摘要

Iran's Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade has published a directive further restricting trade in direct reduced iron (DRI). The new rules state that the country's entire DRI output should be sold to domestic steel producers according to their production capacity. It is the second restriction imposed by the government on DRI trade, effective from 2020. "DRI producers are eager to export as much production as possible due to the difference between domestic and export market prices. However, exports are already under government control and also subject to a 10% export duty," a market player told S&P Global Platts. "The new directive will also prevent any probable export to neighboring countries by traders," he added
