Kerala is truly the Plantation State of India, since 46% of the plantation produce of the nation is contributed by the State"- Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, WTO and the problems of Kerala Agriculture (2004).These valuable words by Dr. Swaminathan the greatest among the living Agricultural Scientists in India highlighted the importance of Plantations to the State as well as to the country.
