Gold nanoparticles were generated and immobilized on the surface of an antibody conjugated with a hydrophilic Fischer carbene complex with oligo-ethyleneglycot tethers, enabling rapid visual detection of the corresponding antigen specifically, even in serum, at a very low concentration without any instrumentation.
