India is one of the largest sugarcane producer in the world after Brazil. The area under sugarcane in India is about 5.50 million hectares with an average productivity of 71.67 tonnes/ ha. A field bio-efficacy study of Taba-G (soil nutrient catalyzer)was undertaken during 2015-16 at Central Sugarcane Research Station (MPKV) Padegaon, Dist. Satara in medium deep black soil in RBD in ridges and furrow method. A promising sugarcane variety - Phule-265 was used in all the three replications. The resultsof suru sugarcane indicated that application of Taba-G (ZSB) @ 10 kg/ha soil application at planting and 60 days after planting along with recommended fertilizer dose significantly increase internode girth (18.92%), number of internodes (42.84%), millable cane height (21.41%), total cane height (21.32%), number of millable canes (32.65), average cane weight (38.07%), commercial cane sugar (62.35%) and yield by 77.17% over control and 10.01% over RDF. Similarly, uptake of NPK andnet monitory returns and B:C ratio were higher in the same treatment. Therefore, application of Taba-G @ 10 kg/ha at planting and 60 days after planting along with recommended fertilizer dose could be utilized by the farming community, for increasing sugarcane yield.
