摘要

Effects of chromium oxide (Cr_2O_3) nanoparticles on the rate of CO_2 hydrate formation have investigated in this work. It is found that there is an optimum Cr_2O_3 nanoparticle concentration of 60ppm for which the maximum overall rate of CO_2 hydrate formation is obtained. A new kinetic model is also presented for description of early stage of CO_2 capture process. The proposed technique is a potential alternative for enhancing the rate of CO_2 sequestration via gas hydrate formation regarding CO_2 emission control in oil and gas industries.
